KYI Project Closing Ceremony by iACT - HUF

The Institute for Advancing Careers and Talents (iACT) is a not-for-profit career development center that offers training to underprivileged youth from marginalized areas of Karachi for better career prospects. Established in 2008, in Saudabad, Malir, it is a public-private partnership initiative between Habib University Foundation and local government of Karachi. Last Monday, iACT organized a display of Social Action Projects by their students under the Karachi Youth Initiative (KYI), at Regent Plaza hotel. Around 120 young participants from Saudabad and Model Colony were enrolled in the six months training program called ‘Lead the Way’.   These participants not only got training for their projects from the program officers at iACT, but also implemented them in their communities, schools, colleges, and hospitals. The projects included Anti-Smoking and Anti-Drug Campaign, Women’s Right in Pakistan, Cleaning Campaign, Child Labor Awareness, and Awareness Camps about Traffic

Momentum Tech Conference - Event Roundup!

Momentum Tech Conference 2017 is a startup conference that happened on 6th and 7th February, 2017 at Expo Center, Karachi. It was organized by  Asif Jafri and Amir Jafri (the Jafri Brothers) and it  gathered all the leading incubation centers and academic institutes to one neutral platform.  The conference was a huge gathering of entrepreneurs, investors, mentors, academics, students and technologists from all over the country. 175 Startups participated in the conference and 15 known investors announced their plans to invest in our local startups.  The conference happened within three halls of the Expo Center where one hall was made into a Technology exhibition where companies showed their products and tech gadgets. The second hall was made into a Startup Village where startups were exhibiting their services and products to the investors, mentors and all the visitors.
